Treks Kayak Camp 2017With Adirondack Treks and Wild Waters Outdoor Center
7 Weekly Sessions, Fridays July 7-Aug. 18

Adventure: We will spend the day learning how to kayak with certified/licensed instructors from Wild Waters Outdoor Center. Wild Waters is the area’s premier kayak instruction school.

Who Can Go? Any kids aged 13 or older (younger kids, get OK from Wild Waters, Dougl Azaert 494-4984)

Trip Essentials: Water Shoes to wear in the kayak (no sneakers or hard sole sandals), Sunscreen, Personal medications, if any, Bathing suit and shorts (no cotton). Synthetic long sleeve shirt (if it’s a cool day) and/or a nylon windbreaker.

The Plan: Meet at 9am at Wild Waters Outdoor Center, at the Glen Bridge. We will leave Wild Waters and transport to the river of the day for instruction – returning about 3-4PM

Cost: $140 . $5 Treks Membership Fee. Call or send Payment by June 30th to insure participation.

It’s Time for the annual TREKS Whitewater Adventure!  Don’t miss out on this world class trip!
Adventure:
We will spend the day rafting the Hudson River Gorge with Whitewater Challengers. If you haven’t seen this incredible part of your backyard, now is your chance to have a fun day and meet other Trekkers! There will be opportunities for swimming and exploring a waterfall on the river. Food will be provided for lunch. If you have a peanut allergy, we need to know that ahead of time. This is an experiential trip, where you will be learning about all aspects of running a raft trip, including reading water and steering a raft.
 

Classification: C level (guided rafts). | Ages: 8 and up Limit: 40 people, Parents Welcome! (space permitting)

The river determines the rest of the schedule. We stop halfway for a lunch break. We will be off the river sometime between 3:00 and 4:00. We will know the timing details a day or two ahead of time.

Cost: $30 (includes tip). $5 Treks Membership Fee.

Adk Treks Summer Programs 2016ROCK CLIMBING, Treks Leader Joe San Antonio with Rocksport guides at Lake George JULY 23 & AUGUST 6  Meet at Wevertown Hall at 8:30 AM, Home before 6 PM.  Bring lunch/snacks/water/bathing suit and towel/sunscreen/rain jacket/sun glasses or hat. Wear sneakers and socks. Cost $15/day cash or check payable to Treks. Group size 10 for ages 10-19/.  Beginners are welcome. Parent help with transportation and belaying may be requested. 2-DAY Session August 15 & 16 Limited to 6 Treks paddlers ages 12-19. Cost $30 for 2-days. Meet at Wildwaters at the Glen 9AM.  Learn the basics and/or improve skills during the two days. The goal will be to run the Sacandaga River paddling through some good sized waves. Equipment supplied; you bring grit and guts, plus lunch. Adirondack Treks – Learn Cross Country Skiing – March 2015!

Get out and enjoy this years great snow – learn cross country skiing with Treks!  This year’s course starts March 1, 2016.  Lessons will be at Johnsburg CS or at the North Creek Ski Bowl
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 2:45PM – 4:45PM.

All equipment provided – totally free!   Open to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders – 3rd graders with permission from Mr. Tomb.  March 3rd class will be at JCS  Contact Steve Tomb at 518-251-3492 or by email [email protected]  Paperwork (see buttons below) needs to be turned into Laurie West, Principal’s office at JCS.
